1. Deadline to apply for refund is 6 months within the date of outpatient checkup, emergency treatment or discharge. For crewmen out to sea, the 6 months will be counted starting from their entry date to the country.

2. For treatments taken during a period wherein insurance benefits are temporarily suspended, but you have now paid the insurance fees, then you can apply for refund within 6 months after the payment made (medical expenses in the recent five years in arrears can be applied for).

3. Please be aware of the time limit, as you cannot apply for refund after the deadline, no matter where the incident happens (in or out of Taiwan).

4. For patients whose co-payment of hospitalization in one whole year exceeds the legal amount limit, need apply before June 30^th of the following year.

5. For confined patients who filed for insurance claim of serious injury/illness, yet said sickness just determined/confirmed after discharge, he/she should apply for refund 6 months within the date of discharge.
